How admission works
Kent's grammar schools admit through the Kent Test, part of the county's procedure for entry to secondary education (PESE). A child must be found suitable for a grammar school through the Kent Test to be considered for a place, and each school then applies its own admissions criteria when it has more suitable applicants than places.
Wilmington Grammar School for Boys reserves up to 10% of its places (18 'Governor Places') for boys with an exceptional Kent Test performance who live within 5 miles of the school, then gives a further priority band to boys within 1.5 miles or in an extensive named list of local parishes and wards (prioritising Pupil Premium pupils within that band), and a final band for other Pupil Premium boys living within 3 miles.
