How admission works
Entry at 11+ has several parts: a confidential reference from the child's current headteacher, the online ISEB Common Pre-Tests taken in the first term of Year 6, an individual interview, a short creative writing task and a teamwork task.
The Common Pre-Tests are age-standardised and cover English, Mathematics, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning. They are multiple choice and take about two and a quarter hours.
Some children are invited back in January for a second interview, which the school uses to look again at any inconsistency between their performance in the assessments and their reference.
The RGS becomes co-educational from September 2027, with girls joining Year 12. Its first girls in Year 7 arrive in September 2028.
