How admission works
The school is part of the Trafford Grammar Schools Consortium and admits through its shared entrance test, provided by GL Assessment. Children sit two papers of about an hour each, made up of questions in verbal, non-verbal and maths skills. The five consortium schools share a qualifying standard: a combined, age-standardised score of 334 or more across both papers.
Beyond looked-after children, Stretford's next priority is Pupil Premium/service premium applicants inside its catchment, then siblings, then other catchment children -- with the catchment defined as the M32, M33, M41, M15, M16 and M17 postcodes, plus M21 as the next-closest postcode. Only after that do out-of-catchment Pupil Premium applicants and then plain straight-line distance apply.
