How admission works
Entry at 11+ begins with the ISEB Common Pre-Test, sat by late November; candidates whose own school doesn't offer the ISEB may submit a Kent Test or another grammar-school test score instead. Shortlisted candidates then sit written Maths and English papers at Sevenoaks in early January alongside a 40-minute group discussion led by school staff. Strong candidates who are not offered a place go into an unranked reserve pool rather than a ranked waiting list. Places tend to open in early March, once Kent Test grammar-school places are announced. Music scholars receive free instrumental tuition; academic scholarships carry no separate fee remission, which is instead handled through a distinct means-tested financial assistance process.
