How admission works
Buckinghamshire's grammar schools admit through the Buckinghamshire Secondary Transfer Test. It is a single stage of two papers, each about 60 minutes, taken on the same day, and it covers verbal, non-verbal and mathematical skills. Each area is scored for age and the three scores are added together to give one test score. Children at Buckinghamshire state primary schools are entered automatically. Others register with Buckinghamshire Council.
For 2027 entry the Royal Latin School raised its reserved-place allowance to up to 12 Year 7 places for looked-after or catchment Pupil Premium children scoring 115-120. Its Sixth Form policy separately reserves up to 12 places for Pupil Premium students living within a 15-mile radius of the school.
