How admission works
The school is part of the Gloucestershire Grammar Schools group and admits through their shared entrance test, provided by GL Assessment. Children sit two multiple-choice papers of about 50 to 55 minutes each, covering verbal ability (comprehension, vocabulary and verbal reasoning), numerical reasoning and non-verbal reasoning. The test moves to a new provider, FSCE, for the summer 2027 test (2028 entry).
Ribston Hall reserves 30 of its places for Pupil Premium-eligible girls, splitting that block into two ranked sub-groups: Pupil Premium applicants who live in Gloucester City are ranked and offered first, and only once that pool is exhausted are Pupil Premium applicants living outside Gloucester City considered.
