How admission works
Kent's grammar schools admit through the Kent Test, part of the county's procedure for entry to secondary education (PESE). A child must be found suitable for a grammar school through the Kent Test to be considered for a place, and each school then applies its own admissions criteria when it has more suitable applicants than places.
Borden Grammar School reserves up to 15% of its Year 7 places for Free School Meals-eligible boys from the ME9, ME10, ME11 and ME12 postcode areas, and its general 'Traditional School Area' priority likewise ranks those same four postcode areas first, then ME8 and ME13, before any other area.
